Speculation is centering on Joy Clement to replace Sandra Day O'Connor in the SCOTUS. From what I read, she's a strict constructionist who favors states' rights, and is against the Commerse Clause abuse the court has been committing since the 1930s. These are Good Things.

She's also against reversing RvW, in case you were wondering.

and wish he would choose someone who is less so far Right.  I suppose that would be asking too much considering who we have as President.

Well, he's not going to overturn roe... (5.00 / 1) (#5)

He believes that Roe is the law of the land, and furthermore that the legality or illegality of abortion is not something that the courts should decide.  He and I are in complete agreement on that point.

He's a constructionist, who will help put a stop to all of this BS expansion of federal power by absurdly liberal interpretations of the Constitution.  And that's exactly what we need on the bench.

Please post update text for selection of John Roberts.

PS: topic becomes even more relevant, as "John Roberts" sounds like a pirate name.

PPS: Arrr.
