Tom Cruise has managed to fall off his rocker in a splendid fashion and has done it so well that his once loyal fanbase now thinks he's as much of (if not worse) a freak than Michael Jackson.

At last check there were 7283 signatures on this petition to Steven Spielberg regarding Tom Cruise bein ght reason this movie will bomb because no one wants to see what would otherwise probably be a good movie if it weren't for the narcissist staring in it.

At one point in time...EARLY in his career, I was a Tom Cruise fan. That was back in teh day when he was still married to Mimi. (He started going wierd when he was dating Nicole.) Not that my opinion much counts...he's got enough money to be as eccentric as a loon. But, I think Spielberg wants to make money on his movies and these publicity stunts or fits of *religion* are hurting that objective.

Orson Welles version!

Tom Cruise is going through a midlife crisis...he is 40 something and planning to marry a young woman about half his age, typical!!

He is a good actor, I liked the 'The Last Samurai' and I liked him in 'Rain Man' the rest I didn't really care all that much for.

Hollywierd makes people do strange things.....
Scientology is popular there with a lot of actors, John Travolta to name one and I love him!! ;-) I don't know enough about it to make a comment on whether it is a good or bad thing, only that I notice it is quite popular.

Tom Cruise is a strange one, but never as strange as Michael Jackson......that one is just sort of unique unto himself.

Frankly, from what I've seen and heard, a lot of it is brainwashing, though most information you can actually find on it is either negative or copywrited (copywritten ?).

Operation Clambake is informative.

as I find many organized religions to be of a brainwashing sort.  Not all mind you, but many......it is sad to rule people with fear, guilt and especially lies and deceit.

Scientology is weird from what I know about it but I figure with all the different things out there it is probably no more wierd than say Jehovahs Witnesses and a few others.

It is the cult thing that bothers me more than anything.  I see a lot of that once again gaining popularity as it did in the 70's and early 80's.  I think 9/11 has made people search more for spirituality and faith and they are looking in so many places that are not good.  Cults usually end up bad......as in poison Koolaide bad.

is special, in that the founders of the "faith" didn't really believe any of the crap they were dishing out.  They just wanted the money.

The same could be said of Joseph Smith, although he also wanted the added benefit of multiple wives.

the multiple wives thing I can understand...it is just one of those male things....but money seems to be what everybody is after and they use any means to get it...religion has been used for centuries for that and its truly a shame....not what it was meant to be used for I don't think, not if you believe scriptures and see how little money meant to those who were the prophets and Jesus.

I have read quite a bit on Scientology today and it makes me ill.  What a big bag of bullshit they offer and with a huge price tag!!

I would FP with a copy and paste of OT III but I don't want to get the site shut down. So I'll drink a glass of bourbon instead.
