We've had the links to our page on eBay for sometime now, but never really sell much. I have a 29160 controller available via eBay right now, so take a look, and buy or bid on it if you need a 29160.

Update [2005-2-7 21:29:58 by MFS]:ok, so I added an "eBay" section becase I was bored. I keep forgetting about swapping some of the topic images - perhaps I'll do that this week.

Why did you switch to SATA? (5.00 / 2) (#3)
by Beef on Mon Jan 31, 2005 at 03:33:44 PM GMT

I tried using SATA once.  Hooked up two 160 GB drives.  First boot, everything worked like a charm.  Transferred all of my MP3s and TV recordings to it - blazing transfer speeds, let me tell you.

Then one day I come home from work, and the whole apartment is just spattered in blood (note: this is before I got married, and I was living alone at the time).  There were dead goats hanging from the ceiling, and feces had been smeared all over the bathroom mirror.  The computer itself had changed color from beige to a deep red, and every time I touched it, an image of an inverted cross burned itself painfully into my eyes.

That evening I uninstalled the SATA controller and disks, and returned everything back to my trusty old SCSI RAID.  Never have had any trouble since then.

Because (5.00 / 1) (#4)

It was for a tape drive. The tape drives have far less satanic activity than, say, your average SATA HD. Not sure why, really. You're a lot more likely to come home to the smell of sandalwood, and little statues of this fat chineese guy with tape drives. I've heard of a few instances of bloody dragon remains, but only with a non-tape drive type device sharing the controller.

Suggestion.... (none / 0) (#1)

Ok, I know this is perpetuating the migration of SrU from a troller's site to just another site out there, but just make a section for your E-Bay announcements and let us know when you have something new up for grabs.

Unfortunately I have no need for a SCSI controller right now though.

Maybe (5.00 / 1) (#2)

I'm not sure - at one point I was going to do the eBay store thing, and then decided that it wasn't worth it to bother. It's not going to be all that common... Still, we can always use another section / topic. :-)
