This will push all those rednecks who ducktape their truck doors and windshields (etc) forward a few decades. They will actually look less tacky, if that is possible.
One thing I will say seriously here, clear ducktape will help me when I frame stuff because when I do the backings on frames, after matting the picture and fitting everything in, including the glass, I use ducktape to finish the back off. It does a excellent job and holds up well.
I buy old frames, refinish them (some antique ones are great redone) and then put art prints in them. Its a hobby, keep me sane.
