National policy wouldn't really be all that different under Kerry. Anyone who whines about (either) outcome of Election '04 is moronic, because it's not going to make all that much difference.
I had this amusing thought tonight, as I was assembling a fake-wood-grain-laminated-particle-board bookshelf that I bought from Wal-Mart for $28: One of the great things about living in America is cheap durable goods. The corollary to that is: no manufacturing jobs. We don't make stuff in America anymore. We outsource it for cheaper. This isn't Bush's fault, or anything that Kerry could fix. We're talking about larger forces of nature that goverment really can't do anything about, short of going Communist.
The good news is you can furnish your apartment with $19 stereos, $29 DVD players, $59 TV sets, and $400 couches. Consume!
