You know something, we have used symbols of being a tight, miserly, grumpy person as a way to say that being frugal is not in the spirit or keeping of the holidays.

Could we be wrong?

Think about it.  From an ecological standpoint, The Grinch had a good idea about taking away all the Christmas trees!  We should not be cutting down trees and using them to decorate our homes when they are getting to be less and less in nature!!  We should be conserving those trees!  We should plant more and cut less!!

Also, Scrooge didn't use a lot of power in his house........no lights but candle and he didn't burn coal or wood much because it was expensive.  Maybe he was a early conservationist as well!  After all, not burning coal makes the atmosphere much cleaner and cutting electricity costs is always good!

Just because he didn't eat a lot either doesn't make him a miser!  It makes him watchful of his diet and his health.  No cholesterol and high blood pressure for Ebenezer!

The Grinch had a dog that was his faithful companion.  Hey! we should all have pets and stop the insane euthanization of animals!!!!  He also had a good idea to take away all the presents and the feast!  It made the Who's in Whoville think more about togetherness and the spirit of things and not the gifts and the food and the money, etc.

Maybe we could all learn a lesson from these two!!

Besides, I know a Ebenezer or two who in all honesty, if not for them, my Christmas would not mean half as much.  It makes me appreciate the fact I am not like them and that I can laugh at their postering and grumbling and find amusement in the fact they are tighter than tick on a dog!!

Have a glass or two of cheer for me and remember, life is short, enjoy it all!

Be conservative in what you do. Be liberal in what you accept from others.

Don't need anything more that a big truckload of booze so as to tolerate the family and the TV.

And a quality Christmas pudding.

YOU made Christmas Pudding, at least you did one year so you said.  Was it good????

I am interested in knowing the recipe for it and how long it takes to age one, etc.  Having made an old world recipe for fruit cake for many years I would like to try something different for next year.

Want to share a recipe for Christmas Pudding with me?????

;-)

...between being ecologically and economically careful and disregarding all spirit of the holidays.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go plant myself a christmas tree...  I hope the taproot won't be too much trouble.

Who's dead now?
