I don't care how busy your life is, I don't care how much you have to do, see, be or whatever.....get out there and VOTE on Tuesday Nov. 2nd!!!!

dividing image

It isn't so much about who you vote for, although I am a Kerry/Edwards supporter myself, it's more the idea that you put your ideas and your thoughts into action.  Do something with what you believe in and who you support....don't just talk about it, do it!!

Today, the Redskins are losing to the Green Bay Packers, bigtime!  Historically when the Skins lose before an election, the incumbent President leaves office and someone new is put in.  :-)

We shall see I suppose!

At this point in time, I am just wanting to see everyone doing what they feel is right and exercising their rights to vote and have a voice in who and what runs thier country.  It does make a difference, it does matter.  Here you are given the opportunity to see that who you believe can lead the country the best gets his vote from you.  Then when the SOB does not do what you want him to do and he screws up, well, you can write letters, bitch, moan and complain because you have the right to do that, you voted for him so you can voice your annoyance at his not doing the job correctly!

The other thing is, set an example for your children and the youth of today.  Help them care about what the government is like and who is the President and help them to understand what they can do to help make sure their elected officials keep their promises or at least show an effort at doing it.  Sometimes things don't always work out due to Congress and Senate, but for the most part, The Chief gets his ideas and points across and wins......so make sure you get someone in there who listens and cares about the voice of the people!  Our children need to see that we are putting action into our words and aren't just lame big mouths who never do anything but talk a good game and never play.

This happens every 4 years, so its not so much a pain in the ass to make the effort to go out there and vote.  If you get up early enough, you can go vote and get to work and have it done!  That way you can just watch the results the rest of the day and relax.   Most polls are going to be open until 7:30 pm, so that gives a lot of us time to do it after work if we can't before hand.

No excuses, JUST DO IT!!!!

And if you're still not motivated, picture this: (5.00 / 1) (#4)

"Chief Justice Scalia, writing for the majority . . . "

Yes (5.00 / 1) (#5)
by Beef on Mon Nov 01, 2004 at 07:39:57 PM GMT

That would be a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Even more motivational would be to picture another 40 million dead unborn Americans.

Ah, yes. (5.00 / 1) (#6)

Life is obviously of much greater value to the administration before having reached military age.

Our military volunteers to fight. (5.00 / 1) (#7)

Our unborn do not volunteer to die.

Automobiles kill thousands every year.  What?  You don't want to ban cars?  You must not care about the lives of drivers, and want people to die.  Point being: we make choices all the time that cost lives, but some risks are worth taking.

I don't know what office you are running for, but you aren't going to get elected talking that shit. Next you'll be telling us that the rich are already paying more than their 'fair share' because we have a bracketed income tax system.

Sunshine. I want some sunshine blown my way by you. Tell me how you'll make my garbage stop stinking when I throw chicken scraps in it and then go on a trip. Talk about giving free rainbows to puppies, or how I'll be able to afford a Hummer after you get into office.

This is a bad characterization of politics (5.00 / 1) (#9)
by Beef on Tue Nov 02, 2004 at 06:40:11 AM GMT

For example, some candidates are grayheaded septugenarian consumer advocates who speak in grim terms about our lack of any real choice, and how the system is simply run by one beast of two heads to preserve the status quo.

He^H^H They are not promising ANY rainbows to ANY puppies, and look how successful they are!

I agree with you on the Hummer comment.  Not all guys are attractive enough to get a nice girlfriend/wife.

If we elected a siamese twin President (none / 0) (#3)
by Beef on Sun Oct 31, 2004 at 07:25:15 PM GMT

Would that make life over-complicated for the Secret Service?  How would we know if, when the President is signing a bill into law, the other twin hasn't taken control of their shared right hand?
