The world no longer makes sense. There is no order to the Universe.

This has to rank fairly high up in the Not Supposed to Happen Hall of Fame. Like Lucy letting Charlie Brown kick the ball, or Superman dying, or the castaways getting rescued from Gilligan's Island. The certainties and fundamentals of existence are now thoroughly shattered.

The Red Sox came back from 0-3 to beat the Yankees to go to the World Series. No, it wasn't the Yankees who staged the greatest comeback in sports, and no, it wasn't the Sox who suffered the worst collapse in sports. Upside-freakin-down, man.

And I thought the 2000 Florida Recount was improbable.

Of course, they'll lose the World Series in some horrible, heartbreaking fashion. Just because.

While those who live in teh bronckz hate it, the rest of the world LOVES it! It is so wonderful when the team who tries to buy a world series every year doesn't make it. It's even better when it happens like this. Especially to their arch-rival!

I, too, hope the cardinals win the world series over the sox in some wonderful, heartbraking fashion.

But I'm sure they'll find some way to screw it up. However, this year, I don't think it will be that bad on Sox fans. Seeing the Evil Empire crumble like this is probably satisfaction enough. When Jesu^H^H^H^H Johnny Damon drops that routine catch for the last out in game 7, and the Cards/Astros rally to win the series, everyone in Fenway will just say "Aw, that's that team we know and love!"
