sometimes to say much here on this kind of subject because of the flack it usually causes elsewhere.
I don't think you can change their opinions nor their way of thinking. What you have is a very small civilization, online. A civilization that like all others, has a few that want total control over who has rights and who doesn't. You said it yourself in your post about Scoop and its problems, its very much a clique and those that can persuade do, those who are more mature, honest and very sensitive tend to get criticized.
My two cents worth is that maybe you should just stop trying to convince them. Generally if you try to convince someone of anything, you tend to have lost them in the beginning. Some things are better off learned the hard way, let them find out for themselves and let them come back and tell you that later on.
You probably are not working with really mature people in the first place, at least it doesn't tend to look that way. It isn't that you say anything wrong or that you are saying anything that doesn't make sense, it is just that they want to be in control and not let you say anything. It is nothing more than that.
My question to you is this: Does it really matter that much to you and why? Are these people going to do anything for you? Do they really matter in the big picture? Why should you care what they think? You really don't know any of them, and if you did, I suspect you would like it better when you didn't.
