Gregory Hines died of Cancer saturday in Los Angeles, California.

Gregory Hines was one of those actors who had a comedic flair and could dance the shoes off of any one in the business. Talent doesn't begin to describe what he had.
There wasn't much he couldn't do, he basically could do it all and there aren't many in the business who can do that anymore. At 57, he died much too young and way before his time.
Two of my favorite movies he did were Mel Brooks, "History of the World, Part 1" and "Wolfen". He had a quick, comedic timing and was charming with his delivery. There was something handsome, energetic and downright loveable about Hines.
With the Hollywood turntable moving so fast from one star to the next, which is more like from one face or body to the next, talent is not much an issue. It is more like who has a hot look and can attract attention.
For me, Gregory Hines death is a sad event because I genuinely enjoyed his talent. I think he will be missed by many. |
