We are having sun spots and solar flares, etc, which was a bit of a surprise to scientist since it has been about a year or more since this was actually expected.

Seems some spots just appeared and weren't there like a week ago.  Hmmmmmmm, somebody missed something didn't they?

The neat thing is, you get a aurora effect throughout the Northern part of the US and Canada and some in Europe.  I doubt we see any as far South as I am, but I would love to see the aurora lights and colors.

There is so much we don't know about space and the solar system, and other systems yet to be discovered.  I have always loved star gazing.  Anything to do with space has always fascinated me.

I just wonder if the sun effects our moods and events the way the moon does?  I know that the sun can make depression less in some cases.  The moon does not effect that as far as I know, only it does effect blood flow (as it does the tides) and I have known many a surgeon to forego doing surgery on a full moon.  Strange huh?  But its true!

sun spots (5.00 / 1) (#1)

are about as dependable as the weather. You can't really predict them. Be glad they have about a 6-year window for them... that's pretty narrow, cosmologically speaking.

I thought you were saying "cosmetically" and I was sitting there thinking 'what the hell has that got to do with sun spots?'.

Of course, if you look at all the old retired people in Florida, you don't need to ask that question, all those age spots speak for themselves.

;-)
