Ok, so, like yesterday, I had a little operation. And as the pain of healing from the surgery has set in, they gave me a little prescription for Percocet (aka oxycodone and APAP). And thus begins my one day story of fun with shitty drugs.

Yes, everyone and their brother likes to rant and rave about just how fucking great the opiates are. Perhaps all these people are thinking only of opium and heroin. Percocet sucks ass.

As if the pain from standing up and trying to walk about weren't bad enough, I had to add to the fact that if I were up for more than a minute or two, I'd get light-headed and nauseous. This is particularly exciting when one is, say, urinating.

Just what is so fucking great about oxycodone? This drug sucks ass. Ibuprofen has been by far more effective since I switched earlier today. Plus, I'm awake. Woo-hoo... percocet made me sleepy and want to puke. Ibuprofen makes the pain less. I realy fail to see just what is so fucking fantastic about these damned morphine derivatives.

Plus, considering that the surgery was to repair a hernia, which involves one's intestines, and that percocet cn make you constipated, why the hell would that be viewed as a good thing? Holy shit! (pun intended)... were the hospital staff trying to kill me or what?

Percocet sucks... ibuprofen has so far been just as effective at taking the edge off the pain, WITHOUT all the damned side effects. And its not like I'm gonna be taking enough ibuproben to get an ulcer or anything, and you won't get addicted to ibuprofen either.

Opiates can kiss my ass.

...though either way, I walk around all day with a bag of ice down my pants...

Percocet is great for those of us who enjoy the buzz. You must not be a drug user, some of us are. I can admit that I like to get my buzz on and Percocet is great. It does however take some getting used to. At first, yes you feel lightheaded and nauseated, but once you get past that, it's actually a nice high. You must not like getting high, which is fine, that's your decision. I just felt like I needed to defend the opiates you claim to detest so much and defend all of us who enjoy them. It is an aquired taste so to speak, but like I said, you can get a really nice buzz if you get enough oxycodone or hydrocodone in your system. I am apparently not the only one who feels this way. I know people who pay 5 bucks a pill for 7.5 Percocet and like 40 or 50 bucks a pill for 80 mgs of Oxycontin (another form of oxycodone). Millions of us can't be wrong, we are entitled to our opinion as are you. Maybe your problem is that you enjoy your sobriety, or maybe you are into 'uppers'. If you do like to get high, then give the percs a fair chance, and if you really really don't like them, then send them to me. By the way, what in the hell is that picture with the guy with the ripped open asshole? Is that a real picture and if so, what the fuck is that all about?

think about what you're saying. I guarantee that I have access to better drug-usage hardware than you could ever dream of. Either way, oxycodone sucks.

Day 3 and I'm much happier and awake on ibuprofen.

You dont have any sharper rigs than I do, I guarantee that. The optimium size is of course, 50 units or 1/2 cc. Any larger and you lose fine grained control, any smaller and you dont have enough capacity.
