The Pope isn't really dead. (none / 0) (#1)

But he must let the world think that he is dead, until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him.

This is not the first time that an Internet kook has claimed to be the one, true Apostolic successor.

It's for real, (5.00 / 1) (#13)

in the eyes of the "true" Catholic Church...which, from what I can gather, consists of Pope Bubba I and a few people somewhere in the mid-west who all reject Vatican II.

tCC (5.00 / 1) (#14)
by Reza on Wed Apr 06, 2005 at 06:48:19 PM GMT

Apparently, the "tCC" is based on the thought that anything resulting from and anyone that was affiliated with Vatican II and "Novus Ordo" caused the Church to become heretical and they are now the "REAL" church  They basically don't accept any of the changes that have happened in the last 50 years.

In one sense, it's interesting reading in that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.  In another, it's kinda scary because most people don't know the "details" of what resulted from Vatican II and "Novus Ordo" and only generally know what the Church actually teaches.  What these tCC people believe and preach is close enough to what is RCC (because it was the way it was 50 years ago) that it has the possibility of confusing people.

The big thing that goes against them is that *their* pope is basically in hiding as they won't disclose his location...and that when they *elected* him in the conclave of 1998, they don't indicate how many electors they had...(for all we know it was *1*).

Apparently he is a superhero now.

I think the Columbian guy drawing this is sampling a bit too much from the national product.
