I've never been referred to as "the masses" before.  My friends and I have been referred to as "the asses".  I've cussed about having to go to "the classes".  Working in networking, I often refer to "the chassis" when I'm talking about a router, but it only looks like it rhymes.  My hick cousin from Jerkwater, MO often says "the lasses" when talking about the females.  But I've never been "the masses".

Truly an American Icon.
