I love this stuff!! (5.00 / 1) (#1)

Science and experimentation is always fascinating to me.   This particular issue is very good and I am glad they have found this, it will help lead to some way to stop it.

This and the discovery of the Osedax (bone eating worm) in the ocean has been an interesting week for science.

Yes, I am Nerd, my favorites subjects in school were science, chemistry, biology, anything to do with science was cool with me.  There was a time when I wanted to be a Archeologist and still would love to go on a dig in Egypt or South America (I like hot and dry climates).

when I was a kid, I wanted to be a paleontologist. (5.00 / 1) (#3)

These days, I'm leaning toward going to grad school for something like epidemiology or bioinformatics.  Something where I can do a combined bio-math thing.  (Sooner or later I'll have BSes in microbiology and applied math.  Hopefully that'll be in Dec. '06 if I don't have more course conflicts.)

Who's dead now?

I'll put in a plug for my alma mater, since you mention those specific fields of interest.

Bruce Weir is a really nice guy, and he testified at the OJ Simpson case too...

I'm a very pretty pony!

and after 15 years living in the Frozen Tundra, I could do with a change in climate.

Whereas I (5.00 / 2) (#4)

still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up.

For some reason everyone thinks I should become a linguist, just because I happen to enjoy reading detailed phonological analyses of vowel shifts and phoneme mergers in North American English, and reconstructing Proto-Germanic and Proto-Indo-European.

I have to wait until Tolkien is no longer cool, though.  Otherwise it just looks like I'm jumping on the bandwagon.

no one uses this for evil.

I for one am not keen on someone slipping something like this into our food supply.
